Instead of just having a class talent and some tweaks to stats, they have a whole new weapon, thus making them all play very differently. Only thing that happened is that all castle upgrades were refunded due to cost changes and stuff, but nothing made you have to redo content after an update.Ĭlasses are very different compared to the first game.

Only the final boss is missing out of the primary content I believe. A lot of classes, all areas, abilities, challenges, and lore if you're into that. But I can't tell you whether you'll hit a wall without being able to defeat a boss for a while, depends on how well you get on with the bosses.Ĭontent wise, the game is pretty fleshed out. Currently NG+5, was able to always buy a bit of rune or armor upgrades, or just general castle upgrades each time.

I don't think I reached a point of not being able to buy even one upgrade after a run. I’m going to buy the game eventually I know that for sure, I’m just trying to figure out if it’s worth getting now or just waiting for version 1.0 They all had distinct talents but otherwise they all had a sword and some were just better than others because of defense & max HP. How is the class variety/ balancing? Most of the classes in RL1 felt fairly same-y to me.

Save states, are those being wiped every time the game gets a new update or do they carry over? How’s the current content amount? Is there enough here to play around with and discover new things for hours and hours or is it still in a state where you’ll get as far as you can fairly fast. Have they made it a little more flexible late game so you don’t feel like you hit a wall at a certain point? I did however see it’s early access and wanted to ask a few questions before making the dive:įirst and foremost, how’s the grind this time around? The last 30% or so of rogue legacy felt like such a chore because of the grind, I had so many runs that pretty much amounted to nothing because I didn’t get enough gold to afford any of the (now) ridiculously expensive upgrade tree bits. Let me start by saying I absolutely loved rogue legacy the first, for all its flaws it was a great game and I was pretty stoked to find there’s a sequel.
